If I got my hands on a ticket, I'd sell it to
the highest bidder. Ebay, Geldof and their
selective morality could go and fuck the fuck
off. I've got bills to pay too.

Grumpy Bob talks about greed - I don't see a penni-
less undergrad trying to make a couple of hundred
quid as greedy, even if it is all pissed away on
DVDs and take-aways.
'Celeb' Chef Gordon Ramsey sells certain bottles
of wine in his restaurant for upto ?12,500! Is one
bottle of wine really worth that much? I don't
know, but if people are prepared to pay for it,
then why not? - relative values and all that cobblers.
More greed is this, in today's news:

?12,500 for a bottle of wine?
Geez...ya gotta be outta your mind to buy that.
I hope who ever does buy that is happy urinating and flushing ?12,500 down the toilet.
I heard a comedian once say. "The more richer and more money you have, the more brain-cells you lose."....haha.

What does ?12,500 come out to be in the States?
And Bono and Geldof annoy me too. The only thing that Geldof has going in my book is that he played Pink hehe

I'm totally not interested in this "new" thing geldof is doing. The first live aid was really something to see but what happened with all the proceeds left a very bad taste in my mouth for such things.I agree, this on the hidden agenda, seems to be nothing more than a publicity stunt designed to give certain aged musicians careers one last hurrah. As far as hunger and starvation go,look around you people,it's in your back yards,do something about it quietly if and when you can and gain your satisfaction from it quietly. If Geldoff and company have all this money to put into such a thing, then donate THAT and put another notch in your broken halo's.

I've no problem with the political agenda of
Live 8, it's grumpy Bob's nauseating moralisitic
rhetoric which goes along with it which gets on
my tits - the self-appointed Saint ponce.
His political solutions to problems are a kind of
Simpleism - i.e. sure the problem can be solved
simply? Surely simple pimple people like I [Bob]
can get those government blokes to cough up the
cash and solve everything with a swish of a
signiture on a cheque book, without ever studying
geopolitic funding, the IMF, blardy bla. 'Live
Aid' is still suffering because of stupid funda-
mental flaws during in its inception.
I sound like Jay now, so I'll shut up.

The point I'm making as far as Geldof go's,his altruism is lost in commercialistic greed. If he is so concerned then he'd have all his "friends" write their checks, say maybe after a weeks worth of fasting,so they might convince me they actually know what it's like to be hungry and give a f**k.It's all just a publicity stunt when you get right down to it.Crap is king.Just one donation from each of them would fill a food pantry in this country. The musicians involved could donate to their own geographic locations ANYTIME without all the pomp and circumstance this event promises.Actually,I highly doubt this will be anything on the scale as the first live aide.People just aren't that naive.

The London show will be many times bigger than the original Live Aid. Last time it was in Wembley Stadium, this time Hyde Park. Already 150,000 tickets have been allocated, and there is talk of extending capacity to 500,000 throughout the whole park, with the gig shown on giant screens. I'm sure a lot of people will want to be there just to experience the atmosphere, and get a free gig to boot.

Aside from someone bemoaning in another thread
about businesses having to close for five days
to accomodate the events, I'm sure the gigs them-
selves will be great day-outs. I'm sure they'll
raise trillions, and if it doesn't end up in the
hands of fascist African leaders, it'll permissibly
do a lot of good. It's only grumpy knickers I've
got a problem with.
